Red Flag warning issued for Seattle
A Red Flag Warning is in effect for most of the region, which means the atmospheric conditions are ripe for rapid fire growth.
The National Weather Service describes the conditions as “critical fire weather” and the temperatures will have “explosive fire growth potential.”
“There’s very unstable, dry air over the region, which can really help with fire growth as they get going,” said Carl Cerniglia with the National Weather Service. “People need to be very careful out there. The fuel is dry and conditions are very good for burning.”
The warning is in effect until 8 p.m. Monday.
